The sheer size of the tower required
hundreds of megawatts to operate at normal capacity. In times
of stress, bursts to a couple of thousand megawatts or more were
possible. Over most of the land mass of the planet rain fell.
The seas mostly were kept clear so the sun could boil off the
water for the rain. Clouds over the seas were used as a shutter
to control the energy flow into the system.
The Umbilical Tower and the Earth
made up a womb used to populate the solar system with hundreds
of billions of individuals, most living off planet. This tower
was the Tree of Life. There is memory of this all over the world.
Easter Island, Cuzco in Peru, the Oracle at Delphi and Nippur
in ancient Sumer are just a few of the places known as the Navel
of the World. This is not to say that all these locations were
once the location of a tower. People, having once lived at the
“Navel of the World” would still tend to call their
home such, even if the tower is now somewhere else, or gone completely.
Nippur is south of Baghdad, the capital of Iraq, in what was once
ancient Sumer. This ancient land of Sumer had a god in every city
with other gods and priests working for them, very cooperate like.
Nippur, the Navel of the World, was home to Enlil, the Great Mountain,
Lord Air. Enlil was the supreme god of Sumer, the Chief of Atmospheric
Operations for the Tree of Life. The main mission of Atmospheric
Operations was to make rain to generate the electricity to power
the tower. Enlil and his offspring are known as storm gods. The
offices and apartments of Atmospheric Operations on the tower
were just above geostationary. This low gravity environment is
ideal for an avian staff.
The womb needed for Reproductive Operations was best formed in
the mammalian, generally sentient simian. It should be noted here
that there are suggestions in the mythology of a two part female
reproductive system, two female reproductive forms. One form was
for conception and the other for gestation and birthing. Inanna
was the Innocent Bride who became the lustful warrior after being
raped
by a slave working in the garden. As the Innocent Bride she was
the Assistant Chief for Conception Operations. Ninhursag,
also known as Mama and Nintu in Sumer and was Gaia to the Greeks,
was the Great Mother, The Assistant Chief for Gestation, Birthing
and Lactation Operations. Both together, as a single mind, was
the Chief of Reproductive Operations. Mama was the womb out of
which all sentient life flowed. Mama was a large person with wide
hips. She could give birth with ease. She lived in the low gravity
just below geostationary on the tower and never went to the surface.
Whereas, Inanna was narrow hipped, slender and muscular, suited
well for conception but totally unsuitable for birthing. I know
it sounds like one was having all the fun and the other was doing
all the work. But, Inanna had accepted the responsibilities of
her position and acknowledges the need to have direct intimate
physical contact with her male counterpart from time to time.
And Mama let her play with the children when ever she wanted.
Mama had a male counterpart as well. He was the helpmate that
worked in the womb, the true gardener. Together they experienced
each other in an intimate but non-reproductive way. This experience
was continuous and on going. Whereas the intimacies used for conception
were competitive and very intense. They were used only once in
a generation to conceive the new generation. The rest of the time
Inanna and her male counterpart were celibate.
Most of the rain flowed off the land
and back into the seas. But some of the water was channeled into
great rivers that flowed to the base of the tower. The water flowed
in from two directions in two great rivers. The water flowed through
living filters, the canebrakes and reed sieves, and into underground
aquifers before being taken up into the tower. It was in this
subterranean realm, in the Abzu, that Enki, the Chief of Earth
Operations, and his staff had their homes and offices. The range
of environments on and under the surface required a very adaptable
biological form. The reptilian form was ideally suited for this
work and was used to staff Earth Operations. The used water from
the tower left in two great rivers and flowed back to the sea.
The tower was held in a net woven from threads spun of carbon
nanotubes. This net provided the pathways for the resonant fields
that were the structural integrity. Within each tube is a single
strand of another element. A mono-crystalline thread of tungsten
is used for strength. A string of aluminum atoms gives transparency,
I bow to Star Trek for this one. Silicon strings are semi-conductive.
View ports on the tower are a tight weave of tungsten, aluminum
and silicon filled nanotubes. The transparency of the port was
controlled by silicon logic circuits controlling the aluminum
while the tungsten gives it the strength to hold onto an atmosphere
in the vacuum of space. This same structure could also be used
as display terminals.
Between all habitats, the tower was
a loose weave of flexible cords and shafts. In the cords are the
pipes and conduits for the transport of power, water and other
fluids up and down the tower. In the shafts capsules moved for
the transportation of individuals and goods. All habituates were
stone structures held loosely by the net of nanotubes and firmly
by the structural integrity fields.
A List
of Space Elevators
The Sumerian
Kings List mentioned above lists five space elevators operated
by eight administrations followed by chaotic times. The first
section of this list is reproduced here.
After the kingship
descended from heaven, the kingship was in Eridug.
In Eridug,
Alulim became king; he ruled for 28800 years.
Alaljar ruled for 36000 years.
2 kings; they ruled for 64800 years.
Then Eridug fell
and the kingship was taken to Bad-tibira.
In Bad-tibira,
En-men-lu-ana ruled for 43200 years.
En-men-gal-ana ruled for 28800 years.
Dumuzid, the shepherd, ruled for 36000 years.
3 kings; they ruled for 108000 years.
Then Bad-tibira
fell (?) and the kingship was taken to Larag.
In Larag,
En-sipad-zid-ana ruled for 28800 years.
1 king; he ruled for 28800 years.
Then Larag fell
(?) and the kingship was taken to Zimbir.
In Zimbir,
En-men-dur-ana became king; he ruled for 21000 years.
1 king; he ruled for 21000 years.
Then Zimbir fell
(?) and the kingship was taken to Curuppag.
In Curuppag,
Ubara-Tutu became king; he ruled for 18600 years.
1 king; he ruled for 18600 years.
In 5 cities 8
kings; they ruled for 241200 years.
Then the flood
swept over.

The first tower was located at Eridug.
In ancient times, as well as modern, it was common to reuse names
of people and places. Any connection with this Eridug and any
historical Eridug, other than shearing a name, is a matter of
fate and has nothing to do with destiny. This tower was built
nearly thirty million years ago, just before the brown dwarf star
came through the solar system and messed things up a bit. Under,
first the administration of Alulim and then the administration
of Alaljar the tower served for six million four hundred and eighty
thousand years. Yes, this timing is not from the standard value
of a Sar, which is thirty-six hundred years. But we are admonished
to be certain which clock
we are using when we are told that a day is as a thousand years.
The question is, do you know which clock you are using. Get the
wrong clock and interpretations of the chronology of events can
get really silly. There is a larger story here that requires a
longer clock. Append two zeros on to each of the times given above.
Before the tower at Eridug was decommissioned, a new tower was
built at Bad-tibira. All these locations were at different locations
on the equator. There were three administrations at Bab-tibira.
It served for ten million eight hundred thousand years. But during
the administration of Dumuzid a brown dwarf star came through
the solar system. It shattered the planet that orbited where the
asteroids are now. The shattered remains of this planet, often
called Tiamet, rained down on Mars.
Mars lay mortally
wounded. Earth was pulled on enough to destabilize the space
elevator and start the continents running into each other. Great
mountains started to form. The administration of Dumuzid had to
shepherd the tower staff through some trying times. There was
only one administration on each of the last three towers. The
next to the last tower went out of service prematurely and the
last tower at Curuppag had to be rushed into service early. It
was in this last administration that it was decided to lift the
tower off the Earth until the Earth could be stabilized.
With the loss of the tower, control of the weather system was
lost. Most of the energy stored in the clouds precipitated out
as rain. The system of aquifers around the tower collapsed and
the tower base dropped hundreds of feet. There was massive flooding
throughout the world. The seas rose hundreds of feet as the water
rained out of the atmosphere.
A Time
of Chaos
After some time a new
tower was lowered to the Earth. But as can be seen by reading
the document
on the Oxford site, times were hard. The length of time each administration
ran the tower shortened and became more erratic. A reestablished
tower would not have lasted long. At some point the administrators
would have been working from orbital habitats, and then been confined
to the surface of the planet. For the most part the list is the
naming of administrators and locations. At times there are other
comments that are of interest. As for the clock, two zeros at
the start, one zero in the middle and our current clock for the
historical kings. And this on a sliding scale as there was a steady
decline in all aspects of the experience.
Etana, the
shepherd, who ascended to heaven and consolidated all the foreign
countries, became king; he ruled for 1500 years. This
guy had meetings with the administrators off planet.
The copyright from above applies here
as well.
En-men-barage-si,
who made the land of Elam submit, became king; he ruled for 900
years. War is here to stay.
In E-ana,
Mec-ki-aj-gacer, the son of Utu, became lord and king; he ruled
for 324 years. Mec-ki-aj-gacer entered the sea and disappeared.
It does not say if he used a boat or just walked in.
Lugalbanda,
the shepherd, ruled for 1200 years. Lugalbanda
is the name of the father of Gilgamash.
Dumuzid, the
fisherman, whose city was Kuara, ruled for 100 years. He captured
En-me-barage-si single-handed. Here he is a fisherman. Above
he was a shepherd.
Some time later in Kic,
Susuda, the
fuller, became king; he ruled for 201 + X years. Dadasig ruled
for 81 years. Mamagal, the boatman, ruled for 360 years. After
five more locations and at least one more fuller, the King returns
again to Kic.
Kug-Bau, the
woman tavern-keeper, who made firm the foundations of Kic, became
king; she ruled for 100 years. 1 king; she ruled for 100 years.
Then Kic was defeated and the kingship was taken to Akcak.
Of all the kings with gender
reference, she is the only female. Women inn-keepers are found
in other mythologies.
Finely at Agade is the historical
King:
Sargon, whose
father was a gardener, the cupbearer of Ur-Zababa, became king,
the king of Agade, who built Agade; he ruled for 56 years.
Near the end of the list, what with
the power struggles and all, at one point the army took over administration.
At this time it is unlikely that there was still a tower in operation.
Lord Water, the Chief Navigator, and most of the resources of
the multitude had gone to deal with the death star. By attaching
sails and sailing it off in a new direction it would come back
through the solar system in twenty-seven million years and then
be gone for good. But it would take a few million years after
this last pass to see the death star safely out of the solar system.
De We
Have Any Idea What We Are Talking About?
At this point some definitions are
in order. And, for these definitions some ground work is needed.
From the ancient past it is said that the what is above is as
it is below. For example, we sentient simians have bodies made
of large numbers of cells. The cells in our bodies are made of
large numbers of molecules. And molecules are made of atoms, sometimes
in large numbers. The pattern is that one large living thing is
made of large numbers of small living things. These small things
tend to be grouped into specialized communities such as the organs
in our biological bodies. Simular specialation can be seen in
the groupings of molecules in cells. The question now becomes,
what part do we sentient simians play in a larger living being?
At first glance it appears that the pattern breaks down above
us. But this may just be a symptom of isolation from our true
nature in the universal creation.
In Egyptian mythology
the god Osiris was dismembered by his brother Set and scattered
over all the land. Isis, the wife of Osiris,
gathered up all of his parts, except his genitals and reassembled
him. Even without the genitals Isis was able to produce a son,
Horus. On the other side of the world the Maya have a myth of
a dismembered
goddess. One way of looking at these myths is to see them
as just stories with no bases in reality. After all, both the
Egyptians and the Maya portray their gods as looking just like
we sentient simians. And we know that if we disassemble one of
us, there is no putting us back together.
On the
Disassembly of a God
If we return to the as above so below
idea, we may have a solution to the dismembered gods and goddess.
The below would be a biological entity like ourselves. The ancients
used the pomegranate as a symbol of this type of life, many units
tightly bound in a single covering. The above would be a global,
or more likely, stellar class being. In that I could say that
my experience is the sum of the experience of all the cells in
my body, the experience of this stellar class being would be the
sum of all the experience of the sentient type beings that are
a part of it. The ancients used a bunch of grapes as a symbol
of this type of life, many units loosely bound and in their own
individual coverings. In this case it would be communities of
people, the kingdoms of mankind, that make up the organs of this
stellar class person. All of the individuals in this larger person
would be part of one mind. Now the dismembering and reassembling
of a god or goddess makes sense. In the dismemberment the different
communities, tribes, would be moved apart and the common mind
would no longer function. To reassemble the god would be to move
all the tribes back to a single location and let the mind come
back together. With the Hopi in the North American south west
and the different Mayan tribes in Central America we may have
a goddess just waiting to be reassembled.
Now
For Some Definitions
There is the unknowable All. The dimensionless
point of infinite extent. This is the infinite in all aspects
and much much more. In no way can a finite part of the infinite
know the infinite. To name this or try to describe it in any way
is to limit it and is inappropriate. It is here, and only here,
that blind faith is needed.
THE TÂO TEH KING.
PART I.
1.
Ch. 1. 1. The Tâo that can be trodden is not the enduring
and unchanging Tâo. The name that can be named is not the
enduring and unchanging name.
2. (Conceived of as) having no name, it is the Originator
of heaven and earth; (conceived of as) having a name, it is the
Mother of all things.
From The Texts of Taoism, Translated by James Legge, [1891] found
on The Internet
Sacred Text Archive . There will be more on the last three
lines of the above in a paper under development called On the
Nature of Experience.
A god is one of these stellar beings made up of individual bioforms
held together by a common mind. These bioforms can be of any zoological
phylum, family or classification. It is the environment and mission
that determines what genetic structure to use. Imagen the complexity
of the nonlinear language sentient cephalopods would speak through
patterns on their skin. Glyphs, as in Egyptian and Mayan, are
but the first simple parts of the language a child would learn.
Imagen all zoological forms in the seas and on the land singing
the same song. In the seas the cetaceans sing the base while on
land it is the pachyderms. All of one voice we sing. This is Gaia,
our Mother Earth, joyful at the happiness of her children. They
sing with the Tree of Life to calm the chaos of the fire that
burns above and below. The joy of life fills all.
An administrator is a collection bioforms
within the mind of the stellar being. These head the kingdoms
that are the organs of this stellar person. It is one of the more
sentient of the multitude. They hold the executive positions.
Yet
There is Always a Down Side
During separation from the common
mind, that is, with their parents away, administrators can fall
to the dominance of their own personal egos. This can lead to
delusions of grandeur. In certain cases the administrators will
claim to be the god of which they are a part. At its worst, the
administrators will claim to be the unnameable All. These misguided
administrators are known as renegades. To feed their own delusion
they will deceive the civilized workers and enslave the whole
world. When there is more than one of these renegades, war is
the inevitable outcome as they fight for control of the world
with their armies of slaves.
Using all of its sailing skills, Lord Water, the Chief Navigator,
sailed the death star past the solar system for the last time.
But through a misfortune in timing, a new generation of administrators
was being born.
With the full attention of the gods
on removing the death star from the solar system, there was no
place for this new generation. Their physical being should have
been returned to the earth and their spirit returned to the mind.
But the strain of fighting death was taking its toll. The birth
mother did not want to give up the comfort of her children in
these troubled times. It was decided to leave them on Earth with
a working space elevator and very specific instruction on what
to do while their parents were gone. There were materials they
were to mine and stockpile for rebuilding the Solar Child after
the death star was banished. With out the guidance of the older
generation, this new generation of administrators soon fell pry
to the whims of their personal egos. After about three million
years of toil, the lesser administrators, the ones forced to dig
in the mines, refused to work.
They destroyed their tools and went to confront the Chief of Earth
Operations. "Relieve us of our burden Father" they cried.
"Are we not your children?" On the insistence of his
mother, this chief administrator, who is also the chief scientist,
and a sub-sister with a good knowledge of the biology of nuclear
DNA build a primitive worker. After a couple of false starts a
good strong semi-sentient simian worker was developed. And, it
looked just like them. The staff in the birthing department was
increased. Each birth added twelve new workers, six male/female
pairs. These pairs were non reproducing and, as a pair, stayed
together until they were reabsorbed.
The administrators now had workers
to do all the heavy lifting, such as digging in the mines. These
workers could be trained to do simple tasks for the administrators.
A complete domestic staff was developed for cleaning, cooking
and serving. But the administrators still had to go to the surface
to supervise these workers. The administrators needed a fully
sentient civilized worker to supervise the primitive workers.
It is here that this rebellious generation
of inexperienced renegades starts to get in over their heads.
They sacrifice one of their own, an apparently expendable male
administrator, for the purpose of building this civilized worker.
They used his DNA and personality along with a spirit. Rummer
is the female side of the double helix came from the surface.
Some biologically
rich clay was added to provide DNA fragments to fill any gaps
there might be in the double-helix. This was needed to get two
incompatible DNA strands to form a viable genome. Here is where
they made their first error. They did not have proper control
of how the bio-fragments from the clay would fill the gaps in
the helix. This civilized workers turned out smarter
than the renegades and were hard to handle.
In spite of this, the staff of the
birthing department was pressed back into service. These fully
civilized sentient simian workers were produced as fast as possible.
After a time the birthing department saw that they were working
harder then the rest of the administrators.
When the birthing department stopped
producing workers, the renegades made their second and most dangerous
error. They let the civilized workers reproduce. Within a few
generations the population was out of control. As fate would have
it, a couple of generations later the crust of the earth was to
shift do to gravitational turbulence left from the last pass of
the death star.
The last operational tower had to
be prepared for a quick departure. These renegades only knew that
there was a threat, but had no idea how devastating it would be.
In preparation for the turbulence, the Chief of Atmospheric Operations
was pumping as much energy as possible into the atmosphere to
have sufficient reserves to ride out the gravitational storm.
This energy took the form of moisture in the clouds. If the tower
was pulled off suddenly, all the moisture would rain out quickly
causing massive flooding.
In counsel, the renegade administrators
decided not to inform the workers. The Chief of Atmospheric Operations
saw this as a good opportunity to get rid of an infestation on
the planet's surface. If these renegades' parents came back with
the slaves out of control there would be hell to pay. The Chief
of Earth Operations agreed about the infestation but wanted to
keep a few workers to start a new, controlled, population of slaves.
Against the wishes of the majority of the renegades, but without
breaking his oath not to tell, the Chief of Earth Operations allowed
the head of one family of workers to know about the flood. This
king was to make preparations for his grandson, Utnapishtim,
to ride out the deluge in a large sealed boat. The king was taken
up into the tower and given the information needed to run a society
without the assistance of the administrators. Three hundred and
sixty five books were dictated to him. There was an astronomy
lesson for the purpose of establishing a calendar. It took the
Chief of Earth Operations six days to tell the story of the building
of the solar system. This included the making of sun, all the
planets, as well as the plants and animals including the workers.
Many years after the flood when the Chief of Reproductive Operations,
now the lustful warrior and separated from her birthing counterpart,
seduced the Chief of Earth Operations. her uncle, and took
the remaining books from him , there were about a hundred
left. By then all the renegades had taken the same sentient simian
form as the worker slaves. The only down side to this was that
the female form of the worker was modeled after the Assistant
Chief for Conception Operations. The hips of this form were way
to narrow for birthing. A serious design flaw by any definition
of engineering excellence.
When the gravitational turbulence
of the passage of the death star became to great to handle, the
tower was pulled away quickly. Not only did the flood rains come,
the aquifers under the tower collapsed and all that water gushed
forth. This aggravated the flooding near the base of the tower
where most of the workers lived and worked.
After the flood waters had settled
down and the boat was on ground again, Utnapishtim got out and
set up an alter for a sacrifice. No sooner had the fire been lit
than the administrators showed up. Utnapishtim know they would
be hungry so he killed several young lambs for the burnt offering.
For the first time ever the administrators allowed Utnapishtim
and his fellow slaves to eat of the animal flesh with them.
When he finally arrived, the Chief
of Atmospheric Operations was very unhappy that some of the slaves
had survived. But the lamb was done to perfection and he had been
very hungry. The slaves did have their uses, if they could be
kept under control. With grave concerns he agreed to let them
be if their genetics was adjusted for a much shorter life span.
He was secretly hoping that, with the adverse condition after
the flood, and the shortened life, that they would just die out
and the renegades would be free of this horrible mess they had
made. He did not want to face his parents with an out of control
infestation of slaves on the planet's surface.
Several generations after the flood
there was an attempt the build a new tower. Shortly after the
project was started the Chief of Earth Operations saw that most
of the tools needed to build the tower had been lost in the flood.
They could still fill large stones with air and float them on
water. But the ability to weave the carbon nanotube ropes and
nets has been lost. Complicating the project was the fact that
space elevators were built up, down and out from a geostationary
orbit, not from the planets surface.
The Chief of Earth Operations knew
it would take hundreds of generations to rebuild the technologies
needed to get into space and build another tower. In the mean
time control of the planet's surface tectonics had been lost.
Soon there would be massive volcanic ruptures in the surface.
High mountains would form. And there was the ever present danger
of loosing control of the slaves. There was nothing could be done
about the volcanoes and mountains. But for the slaves there was
a plan or two. The Chief of Atmospheric Operations, and other
renegade administrators sympathetic to his cause, scattered the
slaves across the face of the Earth in small subsistence communities
or as nomadic tribes. The Chief of Earth Operations changed
their language in ways to create confusion and fear. The fear,
he knew, would lead to war. And there is nothing better to speed
the development of technology and control populations than war.
The only question was, could he get the tower build before their
parents returned to take the planet away from them?
With the Chief of Atmospheric Operations
trying to keep the slaves scattered and pacified and the Chief
of Earth Operations trying the keep them confused and fearful,
life for the slaves was at best a time of quiet desperation.
Or maybe life did just
ooze up out of lifeless rock like modern science says. And the
priests just made up all these warring gods to frighten us on
Halloween.
